A UK company that goes by the name of Riversimple announced today that it has developed a new two-seater zero-emissions hydrogen-electric city car with an expected fuel-economy of 360 mpg (300 mpg in U.S. terms).
The Riversimple small city-car, which is supported by Porsche, integrates a 6kW fuel-cell system from Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies, which features ultra capacitors and 60 percent regenerative braking energy. That allows the two-seater Riversimple hydrogen-electric city-car to travel 240 miles on one small tank of hydrogen weighing 2.2 lbs.
“This innovative car could be made available to consumers for just 200 pounds Sterling ($315) per month,” says Riversimple.
It is reported that Riversimple is also planning a four-seater hydrogen-powered sedan that can travel 200 miles on a single tank of hydrogen.
